Dr. Krzysztof Hwaszcz participated in the INTED2024 conference (18th annual International Technology, Education and Development Conference) held in Valencia from 3-7 March 2024. He presented a study entitled “Assessing the acquisition of L3 Norwegian retroflexes by means of a discrimination task”, which was co-authored with Prof. Anna Balas, Prof. Magdalena Wrembel and Prof. Kamil Kaźmierski. The conference was extremely inspiring and informative, especially in terms of the application of artificial intelligence in research. Important questions were raised about the possibilities and benefits of using deep neural networks for machine learning, but attention was also drawn to the potential risks of ill-considered and inappropriate use of this technology.
