‘To be or not to be multilingual?’ – this was the question posed by UAM Professor Magdalena Wrembel, PhD, to the students of St. Mary Magdalene High School during a lecture she delivered at the high school on March 16 this year. During the meeting, the students, together with the presenter, tried to characterize multilingualism and reflect on the prevalence of this phenomenon in the modern world. The students also learned about the benefits of being able to speak more than one language, as well as the challenges that multilingual people face. All the information that the professor provided allowed the students to better understand the process of language acquisition in both children and adults. The lecture was another joint initiative of the English Department and LO Marynka organized as part of the cooperation between the two institutions.
